As a photojournalist, I find myself sometimes missing the act of making things with my hands and not with buttons or clicks or software. I discovered my love for collaging and cyanotypes at fifteen, often spending time in the empty printmaking room in the art wing of my high school just creating with whatever I could find in my teachers closet. I am no professional by any means, but I think the imperfections and quirks of each piece reflect my personality. I love the art of making something with your hands - making brush strokes, getting glue on my hands, watching the cyanotype develop in the sunlight, seeing your vision come to life.

Handmade books

In the fall of 2023 I made two books for the first time in my Elements of Fine Art Photography class, Cerro’s (left) and Suburbs (right). The process of making a book brought my photographs and personal archive come alive in a light I’ve never seen before. There was love and patience put into these janky books.
